Counting our Blessings

Celebrations!!! We had a wonderful Christmas Day celebrating our Lord's coming. Megan, my sister came to visit from Cambodia--it was/is a wonderful blessing to have family here for our first Christmas in CA. All through Advent when we would light the advent candles Hannah would sing "happy birthday"--she just thinks candles and birthdays go together, which I guess was appropriate since we were celebrating the birth of Jesus. We hope you had a blessed day and continue to celebrate the wonder of the Word become flesh. Blessings to you!

At the Zoo

We went to the zoo with our friends, Sevara and Farida, last week when we got a break from the cold weather. It was fun for the girls to get outside and there were a more animals there than I thought there would be. Unfortunately, the animals are in tiny cages which is sad for them, but because of that we got to see all the animals "up close and personal."

Yummy cookies

After being here for about a week, we needed to do something "normal." We brought about 5 lbs. of chocolate chips, so we decided to break them out and make some chocolate chip cookies. Hannah loves to "help" so she poured in some of the dry ingredients and helped tasted the dough to make sure it was ok. . . Apparently it was =)
They were great!

Bath time for Nani

We just had to post this because it's cute!

New friends

Here's a picture of Hannah and her new friend, Sevada. She is the granddaughter of the family we will be living with for the next few months. They became instant friends and we hope that Sevada will teach Hannah our new language!

Friends

Hannah and Micah having fun together. They didn't know that this would be their last time to play for a while. What a blessing to have such a dear little friend!

Small Blessings

Have you ever experienced the Father's blessing in the little details; the things that don't really matter?

We've recently seen His hand of blessing in the things that "don't really matter" . . . but He who created the universe also knows the number of hairs on our head and delights in giving His children good gifts.

Through all the transitions in our life in the past 3 months, there have been "little" things that have reminded us again and again of His care for us. Our Father has provided "small blessings" for Hannah that have ministered to all our hearts!

*For the last three weeks we lived in OR, our friends opened their home to us and even set up a room for Hannah with her very own little "Fire Truck" bed. A fire truck bed--not necessary, but really fun!

*During our time here in Holland, our Father has provided many, many friends for all of us--especially Hannah! We're only here for 12 days. We didn't know how much Hannah would need relationships during this time. But He knows our needs and has provided above and beyond what we asked or could have imagined!
